Introduction

As we embark on this five-day challenge, we want to introduce you to a real-life example of the principles we’ll be exploring-Brazilian investment banker Jorge Paulo Lemann. His journey is a testament to the power of bigger thinking, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to a big vision, even in the face of adversity.

Jorge worked hard and long at low-level banking jobs to establish a small 2% equity stake as a minority owner in Invesco, a money lending company. The company went bankrupt.

Undeterred by the failure of his first foray into big business, he founded the Brazilian investment banking firm Banco Granita. Only weeks after the company went live, there was a huge market crash.

He had lost most of his hard-earned money on his first business venture. It looked like his second attempt to make a splash in the business world would turn into disastrous tidal wave, washing away his hopes and dreams, not to mention the capital he had invested.

Instead of giving in, Lemann stayed true to his big vision. He built Banco Garantia into one of Brazil’s most innovative and prestigious investment banks. The man who started his professional working career as an entry-level trainee at Credit Suisse just a dozen years earlier was on a fast track to billionaire status. Lemann credits his success to many things, including his following quote on thinking big.

“I always say, to have a big dream requires the same effort as having a small dream. Dream big!”

That type of mindset is the gift this short five-day challenge can help to give you.

The first person to call my attention to dreaming big was Brendon Burchard with a video Called S.M.A.R.T Goals Suck. I have been a fan ever since. Dreaming big help me achieve my dream of living in a tropical paradise I now call home at least 6 months of the year.

Thinking big isn’t just a lofty idea-it’s a powerful tool that can transform your life. It’s been proven to boost your self-image and self-esteem, ignite your creativity and curiosity, and enhance your overall life satisfaction. By the end of this challenge, we hope you’ll see these benefits firsthand.

When you dream big and fall just a little short, you still benefit from a bigger reality. If you shoot for small, then small is all get.

Your time is valuable, so cherish it. Approach each day’s lesson and exercise with the ironclad belief that it can make big things happen in your life. You get the maximum value from your challenge by taking action and visualizing each daily exercise as a transformative opportunity with the potential to change your life.

If you want to move past your current reality into a bigger experience, let’s get started,

Day One Challenge Discover Your Big Vision

Many of us have a hard time dreaming in a truly big fashion. It doesn’t help that our childhood powerfully forms our adult beliefs, which hold us back. For example, Money patterns and financial beliefs are established by age seven. Your entire personality has its foundations laid by the time you are five years old.

The childhood lessons you learned from your parents, plus your own humbling life experiences, create your belief systems regarding money, relationships, success, and other areas of your life.

Since most people don’t think big and achieve big things, these factors might make it hard for you to understand that there are no limits to the life you can create. Remember this and dare to dream bigger than you ever thought possible.

When performing today’s exercise, don’t allow your personal experiences, previous failures or limitations, your upbringing, or anything else to hold you back from creating the biggest possible vision of who and what you can be.

Remember all the latest scientific research shows we can retrain our brain and that we don’t have to live with the limitations we learn in early childhood.

You can do this.
